"Objects are just not quite themselves in the current exhibition at Roots & Culture. In Lisa Rybovich Crallé's work, one has the feeling of walking through a lo-fi museum. The standard signifiers are there, pedestals and statue busts, but they are made of paper rather than glorified marble or stone. Likewise, the tools of the museum trade are littered about: artist's tape, a level, bolts, etc., but all wrapped in papier-mâché, simultaneously occupying non-art territory in subject while remaining distinctly art in appearance.” Abraham Ritchie, Flavorpill 9/2011
