6 Sensory Deprivation Swamp

"THE SENSORY DEPRIVATION SWAMP:
What We Don’t Know We Don’t Know Can’t Hurt Us”

The Sensory Deprivation Swamp was a reflection on the relevance of patience in today's "Information Superhighway" culture. As the viewer's senses developed to the dark and quiet environment inside the gallery, the spiritual symbolism of the Haitian and Cuban Voodoo/Santeria altars of the Florida Everglades emerged amidst the Day-Glo trash of the 21st century.
NOTE: These photos were taken with some lights on, but the installation took place in the dark or by lantern light, depending on the visitors' preference.

Artists who participated in the Swamp include: Jessalyn Aaland, Elizabeth Chodos, Dominic Cramp, Jesse Eisenhower, Albert Herter, Brian McNearney, Sam Meister, Nate Scheible, and Clarke Selman.
